Darwin Family and Domestic Violence Candlelight Vigil

Wed 2 May 2018 (6:30 pm)
On 2 May 2018, a A Family and Domestic Violence Candlelight Vigil will be held in the forecourt of Parliament House in Darwin at 6.30pm for a 6.45pm. At that time, across Australia, people will gather to remember victims of Family and Domestic Violence.
YWCA Darwin, along with the rest of the organising group (made up from staff from Dawn House, Catherine Booth House, Darwin Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Women's Shelter DAIWS, NT Working Women's Centre, and the Domestic Violence Legal Service) invite you to join the first of these vigils to be held in Darwin.
The vigil is a chance:
- For all of us, as a community, to stand up to violence, to name it and respond to it;
- To let victims/survivors, and their families, know that they are not invisible, forgotten and alone; and
- To remember and reflect on those whose lives have been marked by, or lost, to this violence.
We hope to see you there in solidarity
